Pupil transportation requirements must be met initially and ongoing as necessary, per Education Code. Finalist(s) will be required to provide proof of a physical examination within the last two years that meets the pupil transportation requirement before an offer of employment and contract will be issued./ppJob Summary: Under general supervision and direction, transports District pupils to and from school and special events; performs daily inspections and maintains the District vehicle in a clean and orderly condition; performs related duties as required./ppGeneral Duties:/pulliDrive a district vehicle over assigned routes in accordance with an established time schedule, picking up and discharging students/liliTransport students safely to and from school and other school sponsored events/liliMay transport children with special needs/liliAdhere to State laws, District policies, and safety procedures regarding student discipline and public contact with parents, school personnel and community members/liliFollow and implement student(s) behavior plans, maintaining student discipline/liliSweep and clean the interior and exterior of the District vehicle/liliPrepare daily and weekly reports on mileage, number of students transported and condition of District vehicle/liliReport problems or equipment malfunctions/liliPerform other related duties as assigned/li/ulpWho We Are: Campbell Union High School District, located in the heart of the Silicon Valley, is a small, close knit district committed to ensuring every student is ready for the future. We know that high quality teachers, administrators and staff are key to our students success and are working to retain and recruit passionate and effective talent./ppQualifications:/pulliCredential and/or License: Valid Class A or Class C California Motor Vehicle Operators License; must have a clear driving record to be insured and continue to be insurable by the Districts liability insurance carrier./liliControlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Program: Must clear mandated pre-employment drug and alcohol screening; will be part of pool for randomly selected drug and alcohol screening./liliEducation: Education equivalent to graduation from the 12th grade./liliExperience: Minimum one year experience driving with a Class C license and experience with driving a 10 passenger vehicle. Experience working with special need students preferred./liliKnowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of safe driving practices and procedures Ability to maintain appropriate student behavior Demonstrate the proper methods of vehicle safety inspections and maintenance Handle situations with tact, diplomacy and safety at all times Understand and carry out oral and written directions Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the routine course of duties Respond and report special circumstances to the appropriate personnel Adheres to requirements of being a Mandated Reporter/li/ulpPhysical Demands: While performing the essential functions and responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms and speak and hear effectively.
