Sous Chef Opportunity At The Cosmopolitan's Corner Store In Las Vegas

As Sous Chef at The Cosmopolitan's Corner Store in Las Vegas, you'll help launch one of the most anticipated new dining destinations on the Strip, shaping its culinary identity from day one. Blending creativity, precision, and leadership, you'll inspire a talented kitchen team while delivering exceptional dishes and unforgettable guest experiences. This is a rare opportunity to leave your mark on a landmark opening and be part of something truly extraordinary.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Training master cooks, cooks, pantry workers, and helpers on job responsibilities.
  • Ensuring requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated areas.
  • Labeling and dating all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
  • Maintaining knowledge, understanding, and preparation of base sauces, stocks, and soups.
  • Ensuring food quality is superior and taking action to correct any irregularities.
  • Communicating with management and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and employees.
  • Assisting the executive chef by controlling purchasing, receiving, purveyor lists, and inventory of all kitchen items.
  • Preparing and administering the kitchen schedule.
  • Assisting the executive chef by establishing goals and objectives that focus on profit, product, and people.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • An associate's degree, F&B, and/or course certification from an accredited culinary institute preferred.
  • 2+ years of prior relevant experience as a supervisor/chef.
  • The ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience managing employees using a collective bargaining agreement preferred.
