As the QC Lab Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting other QC staff with testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable laws, regulations, and company standards. Quality Control Lab Assistants test products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met. Primary Responsibilities Routine Work Perform daily verification of lab equipment and instruments (balance, pipette, refrigerator, freezer, oven, FTIR, GCMS, pH meter, incubators, etc.) Document and sample incoming raw materials Instrumentation – FTIR Wet chemistry – density, specific gravity, draw downs, percent solids, Gardner’s test, pH, etc. Organoleptic – evaluation of material using one’s senses Support chemist and technicians by: Preparing samples, media, broth, and solvent solutions as needed Stocking workstations with lab supplies Change disposition of raw materials, intermediates and bulk goods from QC after evaluation (APPROVED/REJECTED/OOS/REWORK) Cleans and maintains assigned areas and performs other duties as needed May be involved in minimal handling of hazardous waste Other duties as deemed necessary by management Additional Responsibilities Provide backup responsibilities to other QC team members Provide monthly metrics to the Director of Quality Participate in department meetings scheduled on Outlook calendar Monitor, track, and report on quality issues Report results for OOS and expiration extension analysis Assist with stability studies Assist with maintenance of QC sample retention Assist with maintenance of QC documents Assist with maintenance of lab inventory; consumable chemicals, supplies and controls Work to keep lab in adherence with 5S and safety policies Other duties as deemed necessary by management Requirements 2+ years of relevant Quality Control experience REQUIRED Degree in Life Science: PREFERRED Experience with cosmetics, food science, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or specialty chemical manufacturing: desirable PREFERRED Knowledge of cGMP, cGLP, FDA, OSHA and Municipal Regulations Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to confidently navigate Microsoft Office including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook Attention to detail, critical thinker, and problem solver Listen intensively and problem solve issues for the Quality Management Team Benefits Health, dental, vision, basic life insurance, short and long term disability, and parental leave 401K with company match Company contribution towards Health Savings Account (HSA) Quarterly company profit sharing opportunity Robust paid time off (PTO) Paid holidays Paid parental leave Birthday and anniversary recognition with gift card Performance and safety recognition awards Employee referral bonus Gym reimbursement #J-18808-Ljbffr Poppy Bank
