Independence, Missouri Physician Assistant (PA) - Emergency Medicine Locum Tenens On-site shifts supporting a Level 2 trauma center-affiliated urgent care environment Rhino Medical is seeking Physician Assistants (PA) with emergency department experience for an ongoing locum tenens position in Independence, MO. This role involves providing basic emergency care within a free-standing emergency department, focusing on procedures such as laceration repairs, splinting, and incision and drainage, with no call coverage or rounding in inpatient or ICU settings. The position offers a flexible schedule with shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM, covering all dates and times as needed, with an immediate start preferred and a planned commencement in September. Opportunity Highlights Physician Assistant - Emergency Medicine Locum Tenens Ongoing coverage until recruited Shifts typically from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM No call responsibilities or ICU rounding Support staff includes 24-hour physician coverage, 2-4 nurses, and 1 imaging technician Facility features 10 beds, 1 trauma bay, approximately 80 patients per day EMR training and shadow shifts provided Practice Environment This emergency department functions as a free-standing ED affiliated with a Level 2 trauma center, primarily managing Level 4 and 5 cases. The setting provides consistent physician support, minimal consults, and outpatient referrals, supporting a wide range of basic ER procedures within a well-equipped facility designed for efficient acuity management.
