Position: Cook

Facility: Fountain View
Department: Dietary / Food Services

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with established menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes

• Ensure proper portion control, food quality, and presentation

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas

• Assist with inventory, food storage, and rotation procedures

• Work collaboratively with the Dietary team to meet resident needs

• Communicate respectfully with residents and staff

• Treat residents, families, and coworkers with dignity and respect

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment

• Follow all Fountain View policies and procedures

• Support a team‑oriented and resident‑focused culture

• Complete assigned duties efficiently and consistently

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Previous cooking experience in healthcare, long‑term care, or institutional food service preferred

• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment

• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

• ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
