Public-Sector Compensation Lead / Project Manager (Class & Comp)

AlphaGov (Casa Moon LLC d/b/a AlphaGov) delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research. We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. AlphaGov is seeking a Public-Sector Compensation Lead / Project Manager to lead classification and compensation studies for cities, counties, school districts, and state agencies, and to serve as named project manager on proposals where that expertise matches. What you'll do:

• Serve as project manager and technical lead on public-sector classification and compensation studies from kickoff through implementation
• Lead job analysis, classification structures, and job evaluation using point factor, market pricing, or comparable methods
• Design peer sets and market surveys; analyze internal equity, compression, and pay competitiveness
• Develop salary structures, grade assignments, and phased implementation cost options
• Present findings and recommendations to managers, Boards, Councils, and employee groups
• Contribute project-manager qualifications, methods, and past-performance content to AlphaGov proposals
Requirements Required:
• Led or managed multiple public-sector classification and compensation studies for cities, counties, school districts, or state agencies
• At least one of those studies completed within the last 2 years
• Able to name those public clients and allow AlphaGov to cite them on proposals
• CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or equivalent compensation expertise
• Strong analytical, report-writing, and client presentation skills

• SPHR or SHRM-SCP
• K-12 administrator compensation studies
• Job evaluation methods such as point factor and market pricing
• Presentations to Boards, Councils, or elected officials
