Medical Assistant I Certified- Dermatology Clinics (Day 40)

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the Dermatology Clinic has duties and responsibilities related to patient care in the ambulatory clinic environment. The individual displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively to others and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The CMA functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The CMA reports to the clinic manager, who is responsible for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation of the CMA to the area's policies and procedures. The CMA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in the organization of efficient patient flow, and organizes the clinic environment to assure patient safety.

What makes our Dermatology Clinic unique is our Dermatology Technician Career Development Program , which provides CMAs with a clear pathway for professional growth and advancement. After completing orientation, all CMAs are enrolled in the Certified Dermatology Technician training pathway .

We offer a structured career ladder with three position levels:

CMA I → Dermatology Technician Assistant (DTA) → Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT)

• CMA I: Entry-level position for newly hired CMAs.
• Dermatology Technician Assistant (DTA): Advancement is available after successfully completing the Dermatology Technician program and orientation in both General Dermatology and Surgical Dermatology.
• Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT): Eligible for advancement after at least one year as a DTA. Advancement is based on clinical excellence, participation in clinic committees, and successful completion of a process improvement project.

This program gives CMAs the opportunity to build specialized dermatology skills while progressing through a defined career pathway with opportunities for advancement .

Shift :

Full Time (40 hours)

Day Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday- 8am-5:30pm. Wednesday- 1pm-5pm.

No weekends, No nights, No holidays!

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program required

Licensure/Certification:

• Completion of CMA certification with the credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire
• Valid BLS CPR certification required upon hire; JHH accepts AHA, Red Cross, and military training network

Salary Range: Minimum 19.25/hour - Maximum 31.80/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
