Salary Range: $64,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficiency and adherence to production schedules.
• Supervise, train, and mentor tool room technicians, fostering a skilled and productive team.
• Manage the maintenance, repair, and calibration of all tooling and equipment.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and quality control standards within the tool room.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables, initiating procurement as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering and production departments to optimize tool design and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex tooling issues and develop effective solutions to minimize downtime.

Recommended Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in tool and die making or a related field.
• 2+ years experience in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of various machining processes, including CNC milling, turning, grinding, and EDM.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling, machinery, and production.
• Experience with maintaining and repairing precision measurement tools and equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design and fabrication.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
• Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) to support a diverse workforce.
• Formal training or certification in advanced machining techniques (e.g., EDM, laser cutting).
• Experience implementing and managing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tool room assets.
