As a Banquet Server, you will play an important role in the successful execution of meetings, weddings, receptions, and special events by providing attentive food and beverage service from setup through breakdown. This position is ideal for a hospitality professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced event environment, takes pride in providing polished and personalized service, and works well as part of a team. What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like: The Banquet Server supports the successful execution of hotel events by preparing event spaces, providing food and beverage service, responding to guest needs, maintaining clean and organized service areas, and assisting with event breakdown. Banquet Servers provide service for plated meals, buffets, receptions, meetings, and other banquet functions while maintaining The Westgate Hotel’s service standards. This role requires strong communication, attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to remain professional and composed while managing multiple guest and event needs. The ideal candidate is a dependable and service-focused hospitality professional who works well under pressure, anticipates guest needs, and takes pride in contributing to a seamless and memorable event experience. What We’re Looking For: Provide professional, attentive, and personalized food and beverage service during banquet functions and events. Greet guests warmly and assist with guest needs throughout the event. Deliver food and beverages from staging areas to guests in a timely and professional manner. Provide service for plated meals, buffets, receptions, meetings, and other banquet-style functions in accordance with hotel standards. Communicate professionally with guests and respond to questions regarding menu items, food, and beverage offerings. Anticipate guest needs and monitor the guest experience to help ensure satisfaction throughout the event. Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and concerns. Assist with the setup and breakdown of banquet functions, including tables, chairs, linens, service equipment, and other event materials. Complete assigned side work and ensure service areas are properly prepared for upcoming events. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service areas throughout each function. Assist with transporting banquet equipment, supplies, food, and beverage items as assigned. Follow established hotel standards, food safety procedures, sanitation guidelines, and departmental policies. Communicate effectively with supervisors, Culinary, Banquets, and fellow team members to support smooth event execution. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and service standards. Maintain a professional, polished, and personable appearance at all times. Promote a positive and welcoming environment for guests and fellow team members. Perform additional duties as assigned to support Banquet and Food & Beverage operations. What You Bring to the Team: High school diploma or equivalent required. One to two years of banquet serving experience in a hotel environment required. One year of fine dining restaurant experience preferred. Luxury hotel or resort experience preferred. Food Handler and RBS certifications required in accordance with applicable state and local regulations. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong verbal communication and listening skills. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with guests, supervisors, and team members. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high service standards. Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately in a fast-paced event environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to anticipate guest needs and respond appropriately to requests. Ability to remain professional and composed while managing multiple guest needs and service responsibilities. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established hotel standards. Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with luxury hospitality standards. Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on business needs. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stretch, balance, push, pull, grasp, and handle banquet equipment and service items. Ability to lift and carry banquet equipment, supplies, food, beverages, trays, and other service items weighing approximately 20 to 50 pounds or more as required, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to move items weighing up to 100 pounds with wheeled assistance. Ability to safely navigate banquet and event spaces while carrying food, beverages, trays, equipment, and other service items. Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, shoulders, and back. Ability to work in indoor and outdoor event environments with varying levels of guest activity and noise. Ability to maintain the physical stamina necessary to perform assigned duties throughout the shift. Additional Information: This is a non-exempt hourly position.
