Job Summary This is an Operations position responsible for performing and managing routine and high‑level maintenance duties and other assigned jobs, including assisting with material handling equipment and facility repairs. Responsibilities Assure food safety and product quality. Complete preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Visually inspect and test machinery to detect malfunctions. Communicate equipment problems to operations staff as needed. Diagnose problems and repair defective machines and equipment using new or repaired parts, following specifications in manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Set up and break down food processing equipment as required. Perform building maintenance repairs and upkeep such as plumbing repairs, block drains, lamp & ballast replacements, and light remodeling. Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and battery watering on material handling equipment during downtime. Work night shift and occasional weekends. Complete other duties as assigned. Apply common sense to carry out written and oral instructions. Understand the company’s safety and health goals and objectives. Assist in achieving safety goals through participation in the safety program. Demonstrate proper operation of equipment and tools to ensure employee safety and OSHA compliance. Provide written reports of unsafe conditions or acts. Report all accidents, injuries, or illnesses immediately. Troubleshoot operating errors and determine effective repair actions. Read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams. Repair equipment or systems using hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing devices. Perform routine preventive maintenance and determine corrective maintenance needs. Maintain tools and maintenance equipment in working order and keep maintenance rooms and work areas neat. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of single‑ and three‑phase electric, AC, DC high‑ and low‑voltage systems. Two or more years of experience in facility maintenance or preventive equipment maintenance. Experience with food processing equipment is a plus. Experience with vacuum packaging (RollStock and Repack machines) is a plus. Ability to learn various software programs associated with the facility. Strong technical, mechanical, and analytical skills. Ability to interact and communicate with all staff and management in English. Professional conflict resolution and problem‑solving skills. Physical Requirements Regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, use ladders, and perform manual labor. Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds.
