This role focuses on providing technical support in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients in the Operating Room environment. Key Responsibilities of the Certified Surgical Technician

• Perform technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients
• Maintain aseptic techniques and monitor for breaches in technique
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite
• Set up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of surgery
• Establish and maintain the sterile field and assist the physician as directed
• Ensure preference cards are up-to-date and complete
• Work effectively as a member of the surgical team
• Demonstrate competency in the use and care of surgical supplies and equipment
• Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions for safety in all patient care situations

Requirements of the Certified Surgical Technician

• BLS certification via AHA required
• Certified Surgical Technologist within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program is required
• 2 or more years of experience preferred
