Payroll Accountant

Position Title: Payroll Accountant (GovCon) Location: Herndon - hybrid position 3x/week on-site Assignment Type: Direct hire Compensation: $75-95K Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Job Description: Support payroll operations by reviewing payroll data, resolving discrepancies, and assisting with semi-monthly payroll processing. Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing account reconciliations and ensuring balance sheet accuracy. Record and maintain financial transactions through journal entries and general ledger updates. Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice verification, coding, and timely payment execution. Ensure proper accounting treatment for government contracts, including FFP, CPFF, and T&M contract types, in accordance with FAR requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support accurate project costing and maintain the integrity of financial reporting. Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external audits, DCAA reviews, and compliance requests. Assist with incurred cost submissions and other regulatory and contract compliance reporting requirements. Requirements: 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Payroll software exposure (ADP, Paycom, Paylocity, etc.) CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification strongly preferred. 2+ years experience supporting government contractors. #J-18808-Ljbffr
