Associate Sales Representative, Sports Medicine (Tyler, TX) At Smith+Nebhew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. As an Associate Sales Representative (ASR), you will act as a product consultant in the Sports Medicine product portfolio specializing in soft tissue injury repair and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, knee, hip, and small joints. Responsibilities Work with a team within an assigned territory and hospital accounts. Assist in providing clinical case coverage in the operating room, securing inventory, observing, and consulting the surgical team on instrumentation and implants. Complete logistical requirements associated with cases. Collaborate with Sales Reps, orthopedic surgeons, hospital and OR staff, administrators, and clinicians. Assimilate and learn a high level of technical information related to surgery and procedures. Develop an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet/exceed quota. Build positive relationships with surgeons, hospital staff, and teammates to enhance access to customers. Provide first‑class technical support to ensure product availability meets customer and patient needs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of two years sales experience in the medical device industry (preferred). Preferred experience in the healthcare industry, specifically selling orthopedic products. Proven track record selling/converting business at the surgeon or hospital level. Experience leading or mentoring team members and new sales representatives. Team‑oriented, highly attentive to detail and flexible to work untraditional hours. Self‑motivated, results‑driven, resourceful and collaborative professional. Travel Requirements Within designated sales territory with 2‑4 overnights a month; infrequent national travel for events and conferences. Credentialing All field sales professionals required to gain entry into healthcare facilities must successfully complete the credentialing process and comply with the requirements of those facilities, including adherence to any established vaccine protocols.
