Program Instructor Location Mylan Park Aquatics & Track Center, 1847 Fitness Wy, Morgantown, WV, 26501, United States Industry Youth & Adult Programs, Coaching, Recreational Sports & Activities Employee Type PT Non-Exempt This position will work on-site at the Aquatic Center in Mylan Park, West Virginia. The Aquatic Center includes a community pool, an Olympic-sized competition pool, outdoor splash pad, dynamic fitness room, outdoor track and so much more. It has become a local hub of sports tourism by hosting elite-level regional and national Aquatics and Track events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely instruct client or team through an effective training session Provide quality customer service to all clients and participants, regardless of skill level, appearance, or otherwise Ensure client safety Communicate effectively with the supervisor through phone, email, or in person Enforce all program policies and procedures as it pertains to the sport development program Enforce all building policies and procedures and assist as needed during emergencies Attend all sport instructor and all-department staff meetings, including necessary meetings and trainings Safely instruct effective, creative sport practices or private lessons Other duties as required Requirements Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications Leadership and supervisory abilities Entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm Excellent organizational, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work independently Knowledge of standard practices in recreational sports Ability to thrive in an environment that values high expectations, accountability, and balanced lifestyles Proficiency with sport knowledge and coaching techniques Proficient with developing plan for continued growth in athletes’ skills Human Relations Internal contacts include staff at all levels. External contacts include external customers and vendors. Contact involves troubleshooting, informing, exchanging information, negotiating, making recommendations, and giving information or instructions.
