Compensation Starting wages $45.40-$57.90 per hour Wage calculation based on experience, shift, a $3.40/hr Michigan Direct Care Incentive, and a $4/hr weekend warrior program. Summary The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents and supervises clinical staff. Qualifications Education Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing. Licenses/Certification Valid RN license in the state of employment. Valid CPR certification. Experience One year of nursing experience preferred. Job Functions Initiates and leads team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans. Assesses and documents resident condition and nursing needs. Accurately implements physicians' orders. Assigns nursing care to team members based on resident needs and staff qualifications. Supervises, directs, and evaluates LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs. Administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments for assigned residents, documenting treatment as required by company and regulatory rules. Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel. Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state-specified Nursing Practice Act. Ensures supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely. Reports observations and reactions regarding residents. Coordinates nursing care of residents when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments. Interviews applicants and recommends hires; participates in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff per state practice act. Supervises nursing unit, scheduling and directing staff per state practice act. Performs other tasks as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skilled in directing and motivating staff. Cooperative team member. Effective communication with residents, families, and all organizational levels. Decisive and quick response in emergency situations.
