CNC Operator – Laser/Bar/Press Brake 1st shift Apply for the CNC Operator – Laser/Bar/Press Brake 1st shift role at thyssenkrupp Materials NA located in Cleveland, OH. Job Summary Conducts and operates computer numeric controlled (CNC) equipment for the organization. Key Accountabilities Performs precision tool machining operations by monitoring feed rates, speed, and special instruments. Conducts inspections using measuring instruments for accuracy. Uses calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and scales. Troubleshoots malfunctions by editing specifications and ensuring machine maintenance. Performs preventative maintenance, including cleaning and maintaining safe workspaces. Meets organizational production goals including cycle time, quantity, and quality. Utilizes blueprints, dimensions, machine instructions, and special project guidelines. May have working knowledge of programming CNC machines to ensure proper calculations and parameters. Performs work under general supervision. Handles moderately complex issues and refers more complex issues to higher‑level staff. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. Works directly on the warehouse floor on or around heavy machinery. Meets TKMNA Employee Attributes / Competencies. Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent. 2 to 4 years’ experience in a related position. Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. Safety mindset. Preferred Requirements Accreditation from a technical school or applicable skills trades program. Previous warehouse experience, especially in the metals industry.
