The role combines technical analysis, documentation, collaboration, and issue resolution.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Reporting and Payments; Review and reconcile payroll tax payments and filings, including W-2s, W-2c's, and quarterly/annual returns).Analyze payroll tax data, perform calculations, and provide insights to management for decision-makingDesign, document, and review payroll tax procedures to maintain accurate and up-to-date process documentationResearch and resolve payroll tax discrepancies, notices, or compliance issues for multi-state entitiesWork closely with payroll, HR, and accounting teams to ensure accurate employee data and tax reportingAssist Payroll Tax Manager with strategic initiatives, audits, and process improvementsRequired QualificationsDeep Knowledge of Payroll Federal and State tax computationsBachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field or relevant years' experience.Minimum of 10 years of progressive payroll tax experience.Knowledge of Workday is a plusKnowledge of AI process improvements is a plusProven experience managing complex multi-state and multi-entity payroll operations.Proven ability to safeguard confidential information and uphold payroll data security standards.Strong analytical capability, including the ability to interpret payroll data and deliver meaningful reporting and insights.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.Track record of identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.Ability to manage payroll-related matters during unexpected events and support business continuity requirementsEssential SkillsAnalytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical abilities to calculate taxes, deductions, and benefits accuratelyAttention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing payroll data and ensuring compliance with tax lawsCommunication: Ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders and collaborate across departmentsProblem-Solving: Capable of resolving discrepancies and handling audits effectivelyTechnical Skills: MS applications, excel, word and AI CopilotSeize the challenge.
