Accountant

Staff Accountant Department: Finance / Accounting Reports To: Accounting Manager or Controller Position Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank and balance sheet accounts Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Maintain and reconcile accounts such as prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or variances Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations Assist with process improvements and automation initiatives Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2–3+ years of accounting experience (internships included) Public accounting or internship experience is a plus Skills & Competencies: Basic understanding of GAAP principles Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Good communication and teamwork skills Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Accuracy of journal entries and reconciliations Timeliness of month-end close Number of reconciling items identified/resolved Audit support effectiveness Adherence to deadlines and reporting accuracy #J-18808-Ljbffr
