Respiratory TherapistJob Title: Respiratory TherapistProfession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRTDuration: 13 WeeksShift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 18:30 - 07:00Experience: Minimum of 1 year in acute careLicense: Current state RRT License requiredCertifications: BLS, ACLS, NRPMust-Have: Must obtain NRP prior to start date; Experience with high-risk patients preferred; Willingness to undergo high-risk training on site if no prior experience.Description: Must have current state RRT license in hand to apply. Floating may be required between facilities within the region. Comfort with adult and pediatric patients is necessary. Therapist will assist in pediatrics and with pediatric ER patients, so comfort with all ages is required. Experience with general and critical care tasks is essential. Tasks include medication delivery, airway management, and suctioning. Therapists will respond to rapid responses and emergency codes. Blood gas sampling and analysis, as well as specimen collection, are required. Specific care tasks may include intubation assistance and maintenance of indwelling lines. Experience with changing tubing and bags for invasive lines may be required on certain campuses. Preferred experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings. Therapist must be proficient with various airway management devices and techniques. Daily responsibilities will include treating a diverse patient population with respiratory diagnoses. Familiarity with ventilation management and weaning from mechanical support is expected. Comfort in performing CPR and participating in emergency situations is essential. Interdisciplinary support within the unit is provided for patient care.
