Project Manager

Job Description Job Description Sparks Group is seeking a skilled full-time Project Manager from August through November 2024 to lead the activation of a newly leased building, manage the relocation of multiple offices, and oversee the necessary campus change management activities. The Project Manager will be responsible for identifying and mitigating project risks, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of high-value solutions that meet established objectives. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute is required. Project Management: Lead high-risk, cross-organizational projects to ensure successful and timely completion, aligned with measurable business objectives and within budget. Scope, plan, and prioritize multiple projects with varying timelines and deliverables, considering resources and schedules. Communicate project status, timelines, and issues to executive sponsors, team members, and stakeholders. Procure services and products following the guidelines of the State of Maryland, University System of Maryland, and University of Baltimore. Collaborate with resource managers and business owners to facilitate project tasks, resource scheduling, and issue resolution. Ensure the completeness of business and technical requirements for changes to existing or new business processes. Manage vendor relationships and oversee project consultants' activities through regular status reporting and tracking. Adhere to industry and University standards for project portfolio management. Create essential project management documents, including project evaluations, charters, communication plans, status updates, responsibility matrices, production turnovers, and project closures. Review and refine project documentation produced by other project managers. Change Management: Lead change management activities to support awareness and adoption of business process modifications related to projects. Assess the impact and benefits of planned project scope and unplanned issue resolution. Advocate for and communicate the need for business process changes to executive sponsors and stakeholders, securing their awareness and approval. Oversee the project change request process, managing changes throughout the project lifecycle. Serve as a liaison, engaging and supporting the project team, and preparing affected business areas for the transformation. Assist in developing and improving guidelines, informational web pages (web and SharePoint), and other supporting documentation. Review, edit, approve, and implement web page changes related to the project. Risk Management: Analyze and manage corrective actions to minimize the impact of project risks. Identify and assess project-related risks, developing strategies to mitigate or avoid threats to achieving project objectives. Implement risk mitigation strategies with the project team.
