This position operates within an outpatient office setting, allowing our counselors the flexibility of remote work while maintaining a collaborative spirit. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly residents to evaluate individual needs and challenges specific to aging.

• Provide tailored individual and group counseling sessions addressing emotional concerns related to aging, including depression, anxiety, and grief.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that cater to the specific psychological needs of geriatric patients.

• Educate staff, families, and residents on treatment strategies that enhance emotional well-being, ensuring a supportive environment for patients and their loved ones.

• Facilitate grief and loss counseling for families facing end-of-life issues, offering compassionate support and resources during difficult times.

• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs that promote mental acuity and engagement in elderly patients, supporting their overall cognitive health.

• Document all patient interactions thoroughly, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal standards in mental health counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of this role is on elderly individuals experiencing emotional and psychological challenges typically associated with aging. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.

• A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.

• At least 4 years of experience providing counseling services specifically to geriatric populations.

Compensation and Benefits\n

Midtown Behavioral Health offers a competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $95,000 per year, in addition to a sign-on bonus for new hires.
