Payroll Administrator Department: Human Resources Employment Type: Full Time Location: 1668 S. Garfield Ave. 2nd Floor, Alhambra, CA 91801 Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 / year Description Astrana Health is seeking a detail‑oriented Payroll Administrator to manage bi‑weekly payroll processing across multiple entities. This role reports to the Payroll Manager and supports payroll operations for approximately 3,000 employees across multiple states. You will partner closely with HR Operations, Accounting, and cross‑functional teams to ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and workflows. The ideal candidate brings strong technical payroll knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment. Our Values Put Patients First Empower Entrepreneurial Provider and Care Teams Operate with Integrity & Excellence Be Innovative Work As One Team What You’ll Do Manage end‑to‑end bi‑weekly payroll processing for approximately 3,000 employees across multiple entities and states Maintain and audit time‑keeping systems; partner with managers to ensure timely and accurate time submission Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, filings, and reporting requirements Support payroll‑related activities for new state registrations and ongoing compliance requirements Partner with HR Operations to ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll data inputs Review payroll processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy Prepare payroll and compensation reporting to support audits and business analysis Partner with Accounting on payroll reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger impacts Support year‑end activities, audits, and other payroll‑related projects as needed Qualifications 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi‑state, multi‑entity environment Healthcare experience preferred Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred CPP or FPC certification preferred Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements Experience with payroll systems and time‑keeping platforms; ADP experience a plus High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate independently in a fast‑paced environment Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where the expectation is to work a combination in office and at home on a weekly basis. This position is located at 1668 S. Garfield Ave, 2nd Floor, Alhambra, CA 91801. The total compensation target pay range for this role is: $75,000 - $85,000 annually. This salary range represents our national target range for this role.
