Accounting Officer (Specialist)

This position is eligible to telework up to one day a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general direction of an Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) in the Accounts Payable and Support Services Section, the Accounting Officer (Specialist) performs the average difficulty payment functions of assigned DGS program offices including the proper recording, reconciliation, and reporting of accounting information and appropriations while maintaining the proper internal controls. The accounting tasks are performed in accordance with Office of Fiscal Services (OFS) guidelines, Governor's Budget, Department Of Finance (DOF) rules and regulations, California Department of Human Resources (Cal HR) policies, California Prompt Payment Act, State Administrative Manual (SAM), and Government Codes, utilizing Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) People Soft and Microsoft Office Suite. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.
