The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. May be asked to float to other practices as needed, and maybe asked to work some Saturdays as needed.The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.Primary Responsibilities:Greet patient when entering the practiceObtain prior authorizations for infusion proceduresObtain co-pay assistance for infusion servicesMaintain authorization logsObtain accurate and updated patient information, such as name, address, insurance informationPerform insurance verification on the date of serviceConfirms and schedule appointmentsAnswer telephone calls promptly and courteouslyCollects co-pays or outstanding balances on the date of servicePerform referral documentation promptlyPerforms certain follow-up services for patients in a prompt and courteous manner, such as scheduling specialist appointments, scheduling follow-up appointments and obtaining copies lab results or specialist reportsAdhere to the standards identified in Optum's Employee Policy ManualCooperate with other Optum employees to achieve specific team goalsKeep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirementsAssist coworkers as needed to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamworkDemonstrate respect for patients and Optum staff by presenting a friendly, courteous manner at all times and maintaining patient confidentialityPerform other duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group?
