We are seeking a motivated and highly competent Patient Care Coordinator to join our small orthopedic surgery practice in Ridgewood, NJ. This role involves managing all aspects of clinical administrative operations, including appointment scheduling, insurance verification, billing compliance, and patient records management. The coordinator will work closely with medical staff daily, ensuring seamless communication and a high level of customer service within a busy and growing children's orthopedic surgery environment.

 

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments efficiently using general office software and a custom EHR system
• Verify patient insurance and obtain payment authorizations
• Input and manage billing claims accurately and timely
• Create and maintain new patient charts and records, including scanning and filing documents
• Respond promptly to telephone inquiries and manage multi-line phone systems
• Collaborate daily with medical staff to ensure smooth clinical operations
• Ensure compliance with healthcare billing regulations and company policies
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, employees, and referral sources

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medical administration
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with insurance verification processes
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities
• Proficiency with multi-line phone systems
• Team player mindset
