Trading Assistant

This opportunity is 5 days in the office in New York City. We are seeking an Assistant Trader & Credit Operations [Associate] to support all facets of a growing opportunistic credit investment platform. The role offers direct exposure to senior investment professionals and will span trading, portfolio / fund operations, fund financings, and investment team support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, intellectually curious, and interested in developing a long-term career in corporate credit investing, trading, and portfolio operations and management. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle of investments, including performing, stressed, distressed, and special situations credit. Primary Responsibilities Trading & Settlement Assistant trader supporting all aspects of our opportunistic credit platform Manage the execution and settlement process of primary and secondary market leveraged loan, high yield bond, and other credit transactions including allocations to funds Book and administer loan, bond, and other credit trades in ClearPar, BloombergAIM, or other order, executions, and portfolio management systems (OMS/EMS/PMS) Track trade status by maintaining trade blotters, position records, and portfolio reporting Coordinate with brokers, counterparties, loan agents, custodians, legal teams, and administrators regarding trade activity to resolve settlement issues and ensure timely execution Portfolio / Fund Operations Reconcile positions, cash balances, and investment activity Process interest payments, principal repayments, fees, and other portfolio cash flows Coordinate liquidity and cash forecasting to fund purchases, manage settlement needs, minimize cash drag, and evaluate permitted alternatives for cash Monitor market activity, pricing, corporate actions, restructurings, amendments, other credit events, and other portfolio exposures and support portfolio analytics Support valuation, performance reporting, and month-end processes Assist with fund administrator, auditor, and service provider requests Help establish and maintain broker, custodian, and financing-provider relationships including opening trading lines and supporting diligence for subscription lines, TRS facilities, and other debt facilities Assist with onboarding and ongoing administration of fund financing facilities Assist with investment pipeline management and portfolio reporting including adding new opportunities to and maintaining them in our internal Global Pipeline Portal (GPP) Process NDAs to establish VDR access for syndicated loan and bond sites and private opportunities with the assistance of legal counsel and investment team; maintain ongoing VDR access for each credit with brokers Prepare analyses and presentations for internal investment discussions Support investment research, underwriting, and due diligence efforts as needed Contribute to process improvement and operational scalability initiatives #J-18808-Ljbffr
