Behavioral Support Aide

Behavior Support Aide: Location: Clermont County Area Hours : Seasonal, Full time.
(This position will have orientation on July 27th-29th. And you will tentatively begin full time hours on August 14th.) Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED. Two years' experience with children ages birth to five preferred. Experience working with challenging behaviors, providing individualized support and understanding of behavior management techniques required. Pay Rate: Compensation for this position is $19/hour Description: Behavior Support Aide's are responsible for working closely with children by implementing their customized behavior support plans and fostering a positive and inclusive environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Learning Environment:
Based on center assignment, provide hands-on support in classrooms when there significant behavioral or social-emotional concerns when they are identified, using trauma-informed practices and Conscious Discipline strategies.
Based upon needs and/or ECMHT recommendations, riding the school bus during transportation may be required.
Assist in the set-up of the learning environment, assisting with daily routines and schedule as needed to support individual child's needs.
May attend team meetings with parents, teachers and ECMHT to create an intervention plan, and follow up with staff and parents as needed under the direction of the behavior support coach.
Collaborates with the Behavior Support Coach to develop behavior strategies to address concerns.
Participate in staff meetings and staff trainings.
Attend specialized professional development to continue improving skills related to the position and to increase program quality, especially in the areas of trauma-informed practice, Conscious Discipline, and social-emotional development
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Safety:
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for children.
Actively supervise children during play, nap, meals, and field trips.
Follows all Authorized Release procedures, including checking ID's.
Modeling appropriate behaviors and mediating conflict between children using Conscious Discipline and positive behavior management techniques.
Meeting all children's needs:
Being familiar with IFSP's or Behavior Action Plans for children with diagnosed or suspected special needs to assist with implementation of plans.
Fully integrate dual language learners in all aspects of classroom schedule
Working with families:
Establish positive and productive relationships with families through building rapport and trust.
Creates a welcoming environment for children and families by appropriately communicating with parents, guardians and coworkers in a respectful manner.
Maintains confidentiality related to children, parents and staff.
Professional growth and collaboration:
Work cooperatively and collaborate with the other staff in the center
Participate in ongoing professional development and training requirements specific to the position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
All staff is responsible for the supervision of children in our program when working directly with children during scheduled hours of classroom operations or special events. Staff included as part of the ratio or who are working one-on-one with a child assumes primary responsibility for the supervision of children. Physical Demands:
Must be physically and mentally able to carry out job duties. Able to pass employment physical demonstrating ability to stoop, crawl, kneel, bend and to lift, carry and hold child of 40 to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for 30 minutes, walk and run up to 20 feet. Ability to maintain visual and auditory supervision of children at all times. Child Focus provides excellent benefits.
