THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOININGJoin the corporate accounting team of a large, growing organization with a significant national presence and thousands of employees across North AmericaWork closely with the broader Finance organization, executive management, and operating company accounting teamsLead and develop a corporate accounting team that currently includes one direct reportWork in a hands-on environment where you will own the accounting for multiple corporate entitiesJoin a growing corporate function where the scope and responsibilities of the team will continue to evolveLOCATIONCharlotte, NCWHAT THEY OFFER YOUOpportunity to take ownership of the accounting operations for multiple corporate entitiesBroad exposure across corporate accounting, treasury, financial reporting, and cash forecastingOpportunity to lead and develop the corporate accounting function as the organization continues to growAbility to improve accounting processes, controls, and technology across the functionHigh visibility and regular interaction with Finance leadership and operating company accounting teamsWHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANTOwn the accounting for the company's corporate entities, including the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and reportingLead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliationsMaintain the integrity of the corporate general ledger and oversee accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, debt, intercompany activity, and other corporate-level transactionsPrepare corporate financial statements and management reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policiesReview balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely mannerManage, develop, and provide direction to the corporate accounting teamSupport treasury activities, company-wide cash forecasting, and preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and footnotesChampion process improvement, automation, and adoption of technology and systems to improve efficiency and data integrityTHE BACKGROUND THAT FITSBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant corporate or industry accounting experienceExperience taking ownership of the accounting for one or more entities or business unitsStrong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial close processesStrong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principlesExperience with monthly and annual financial close processesStrong account reconciliation and analytical skillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExcellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesDemonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and identify and resolve issuesERP, multi-entity, and accounting process automation experience preferredPublic accounting experience is a plus, but not requiredReference: 70090
