Imagine embarking on a mission that gives a voice to countless individuals. As a Speech Language Therapist in the charismatic city of New Orleans, your role transcends the typical boundaries of communication and swallowing therapy. You will pave the way for individuals, from curious toddlers stringing together their first words to resilient seniors reclaiming their independence and dignity.
This position offers an extraordinary chance to make a difference across a diverse spectrum of ages in a vibrant setting that merges outpatient therapy with the occasional support of inpatient services. Whether your passion lies in nurturing pediatric language skills, addressing complex adult neurogenic communication challenges, or guiding seniors in cognitive-linguistic recovery, you'll discover a fulfilling and flexible environment that suits your expertise.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations for individuals spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric classifications utilizing both standardized assessments and observational methodologies.
- Craft bespoke treatment plans tailored to meet immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions, concentrating on language, communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing functionalities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, family members, and caregivers to formulate holistic care approaches.
- Provide essential educational resources for patients and their families to foster growth beyond therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring consistency in patient care throughout their recovery journey.
- Maintain proper and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in the field through continuous education and collaborative efforts with peers.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) unless ASHA certification has already been attained.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be completed within one month of hire.
Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, with a profound understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exemplary interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Adept at modifying therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Demonstrated clinical judgment and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity and comfort with electronic medical records management and documentation standards.
Benefits
- Competitive pay reflective of your experience level.
- Flexible scheduling that promotes work-life harmony and diverse caseloads.
- Opportunities to focus on specialized areas such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
- Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
- Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
- Financial assistance for continuing education and support for professional development.
- A collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere emphasizing quality care and lifelong learning.
Step into a Career That Moves You
In this role, your contribution will extend beyond mere speech therapy. You will be a key player in a community-focused initiative that aims to restore voices, enhance communication channels, and cultivate joy in the simple yet profound acts of listening and being heard.
You'll join a team of healthcare professionals who treat one another as family in a culture that promotes collaboration over competition. Every individual you encounter comes with a narrative; we trust you to help guide how it's shared.
Why You Will Adore Living and Working Here

For professionals, the opportunities are boundless with a robust healthcare market that continually seeks committed clinicians eager to flourish and thrive.
Whether you're starting your career or looking to expand your horizons, this community provides the perfect backdrop for both professional growth and personal fulfillment.
Who We Are Searching For
We are looking for a dedicated Speech Language Therapist whose motivation stems not just from results but from a deep sense of empathy. Someone who sees a reserved child and envisions them expressing themselves wholly, who recognizes the struggle of a stroke survivor and listens to their determination to overcome challenges.
Whether you're a children's specialist ready to venture into adult care or a seasoned neuro-focused clinician looking to dive into early intervention, your commitment to service and excellence is what we desire.
If you're prepared to provide compassionate care and lead with proficiency, we invite you to explore this opportunity with us.
Let's Connect Through Meaningful Conversations
If you understand that speech is far more than mere sound, and therapy is about much more than tasks if you prioritize trust-building alongside goal setting and recognize the beauty of laughter and language then this could be the inspiring next chapter in your career journey.
Join us in a community that values communication, connection, and the courage to start anew. Apply now to share your voice with our compassionate team and help others rediscover theirs.
