Advancement Services Coordinator

Job Summary: Prospect Research Conducts prospect research as it relates to event bios and profiles, at times including extensive financial and biographical research by identifying and analyzing wealth indicators, such as real estate holdings, equity holdings, compensation, family foundation assets, and philanthropy; composes detailed research materials, such as profiles, on donors and prospects. Coordinates with an outside vendor that supports custom research for presidential events, complex donor meetings and parent research. Data Services Record updated information in the appropriate portion of the constituent record and review related portions of the record to determine if further changes or research will be necessary. Proactively search for new biographical data using Internet-based search sites, various written and electronic media, professional directories, and telephone inquiries. Create records in the database for new constituents and organizations; create appropriate links as needed. Gift Services Supports Assistant Director of Gift Services with routine activities such as receipts, pledge reminders and deposits. Serves as the back up to the Assistant Director of Gift Services for gift and pledge processing (all types) with primary support during absence or high-volume time periods. Requires periodic entry over the course of the year for knowledge retention. Minimum Qualifications & Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent combination of work experience. At least one year of related work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Work experience in higher education and/or non-profit. Experience working with Slate CRM. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated initiative, creative energy, and ability to manage complex programs or communications. Flexible, self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in an ambiguous and ever-changing, fast-paced environment. Strong planning, project management and organizational skills; keen attention to detail; ability to set and balance multiple priorities and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment. Aptitude for numbers, data, and analysis is essential. Strong Excel and data analytics skills necessary to support team in preparing data. Creative and resourceful thinker with strong skills in collaboration and partnership-building. Ability to work independently and as a team player while handling multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to handle confidential information, maintain and update files with high degree of accuracy, and sensitivity to the importance of alumni and donor relations. Computer fluency including Microsoft Office Suite, ability to learn and utilize CRM database, email marketing platform, reporting tools, and other technology/systems. Work Environment: Campus-based, customer service role in an office environment, offering some opportunity for a hybrid work schedule. Regular use of a computer and databases. Employees are required to use their personal cell phones for work-related communications and tasks, including but not limited to responding to emails, attending virtual meetings, and accessing College applications. Flexible scheduling and must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for Advancement events throughout the year including alumni/advancement events, Alumni Weekend, and Family Weekend.
