Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Aims Advantage is hiring for skilled and entry level industrial maintenance mechanics on 3rd shift. The ideal entry level candidate will be mechanically inclined and want to learn more about maintenance within a diecast setting. The ideal skilled candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience. These are direct hire positions to get hired right into the company from day one.

Shift: 10:00PM- 6:00AM (Training will be 6:00am - 3:00pm)

Job Description

• Learn and help perform a variety of general trades related to maintenance duties to maintain plant system structures and equipment.
• Help repair breakdowns on diecast machines, trim presses, and other related machinery as soon as possible.
• Assist in making replacement parts, piping, hydraulic repairs, and minor electrical repairs when needed.
• Help perform welding operations to repair equipment or to fabricate various structures as needed.
• Learn basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and pumps to repair them.
• Learn basic knowledge of electricity and electrical circuits to facilitate locating and repairing electrical issues.
• Help in preventative maintenance of all plant equipment.
• Use daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for checking and lubricating machinery and documenting those checks.
• Obey and practice all safety procedures, properly use LOTO, and wear required PPE.
• Help maintain building and grounds as needed.
• Help making emergency repairs on all plant equipment immediately upon notification of failures.
• Help maintain clean and organized safe work environment in the plant including following 5S.
• Work overtime as required with little or no notice to keep machines running to meet production schedule.
• Must have or in process of acquiring own personal tools specified by leader.
• Any other duties that management may deem necessary.

Additional Requirements:

• Able to work in high places including the roof and using a scissor lift.
• Capable of working in confined spaces including shaker and harpoon area's.
• Physically strong enough to remove tie bar with 25lb knockout.
• Capable of standing by machinery for up to 10 hours with 3 breaks allowed.
• Withstand temperatures of over 100 degrees in the summer and extreme temperatures of over 125 degrees while working near the furnace.
• Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 100lbs chest high.
• Must be able to wear all required PPE.
• Must be able to pass and obtain a hi-lo driving test and operate it in a safe manner.
• Must be able to pass and obtain an overhead crane test and permit.
