Clinical Trial Nurse (R.N.) Job Summary Provide treatment, monitoring, and follow-up analysis for clinicaltrial participants. Take health histories, watch for negativeeffects, and collect samples. This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associatedvaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior tothe first day of work. Responsibilities Assesses and ensures subject safety during trial. Proposes and negotiates alternatives for protocol. Educatesstaff about the scientific aspects of the study. Applies pharmacological knowledge to help PI determineidiosyncrasies and unexpected results. Evaluates adverse events(AE), intervenes when necessary and reports details to PI. Conductsfollow-up to determine resolution of AE. Reports serious AEs to IRBand sponsor. Presents related information to community for recruitmentpurposes or to other research professionals in a variety ofsettings. Mentors and trains new and subordinate employees. Helps determine personnel required to complete trial anddevelop the timeline for trial completion. Reviews study relateddata to assure compliance with study protocol. Prepares emergency use report. Manages pharmacokinetic collection and storage. Relates lab results to PI and sponsor. Ensures appropriate maintenance and calibration ofequipment. May perform bedside care.
