Responsibilities Assesses and ensures subject safety during trial. Proposes and negotiates alternatives for protocol. Educates staff about the scientific aspects of the study. Applies pharmacological knowledge to help PI determine idiosyncrasies and unexpected results. Evaluates adverse events (AE), intervenes when necessary and reports details to PI. Conducts follow-up to determine resolution of AE. Reports serious AEs to IRB and sponsor. Presents related information to community for recruitment purposes or to other research professionals in a variety of settings. Mentors and trains new and subordinate employees. Helps determine personnel required to complete trial and develop the timeline for trial completion. Reviews study related data to assure compliance with study protocol. Prepares emergency use report. Manages pharmacokinetic collection and storage. Relates lab results to PI and sponsor. Ensures appropriate maintenance and calibration of equipment. May perform bedside care. Clinical Trial Nurse (R.N.), III Provide treatment, monitoring, and follow-up analysis for clinical trial participants. Take health histories, watch for negative effects, and collect samples. Conducts complex, important work under minimal supervision and with wide latitude for independent judgment. Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience. This is a Career-Level position in the General Professional track. Minimum Qualifications EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
