HVAC Manager at Mohr Air Conditioning & Plumbing

Mohr Air Conditioning & Plumbing is one of Arkansas's oldest family-owned HVAC companies, proudly serving East and Northeast Arkansas since 1968. From our roots in Wynne, we've grown into Jonesboro and Searcy, and we now offer full-service residential plumbing alongside heating and air conditioning. About 90% of our new customers come to us through referrals from existing customers.

Why We Need You

We're hiring an HVAC Manager (what we call our Location Manager) to run HVAC field operations at our Jonesboro location. You'll manage both our service team and our install team , 57 technicians and installers in total. You'll drive daily execution on both sides, keep workmanship high on every service call and every install, and make sure every customer gets the Mohr experience. You'll work directly with our Operations Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who leads from the front and builds an accountable team.

Compensation

• $70,000$100,000 per year salary , depending on experience

What You'll Do

Lead the service and install teams

• Manage all HVAC service technicians and installers at the Jonesboro location (57 people)

• Make sure company procedures, best practices, safety standards, and customer service expectations are followed on every service call and install

• Hold regular 1:1s, ride-alongs, and field evaluations with both techs and installers, with follow-up coaching on technical skills, company processes, and customer communication

• Hold the team accountable to performance expectations and service standards

• Help onboard and train new technicians and installers alongside our dedicated company trainer

Service side

• Work with dispatch to assign the right technician to the right job

• Make sure service techs have the parts, information, and support they need to complete their jobs

• Resolve customer concerns, callbacks, and technical issues with care and professionalism

Install side

• Keep install crews on schedule and make sure equipment for change-outs is staged before installers arrive

• Inspect install and change-out work for quality, and correct issues before they become callbacks

• Coordinate with warranty and quality assurance when extra support is needed

Run the location

• Manage to KPI goals in ServiceTitan, including conversion rate, average ticket, labor efficiency, material control, and customer satisfaction

• Monitor overtime while making sure customers are taken care of

• Handle location admin: approve and submit timesheets, track team bonuses and spiffs, and coordinate with HR

• Keep the Operations Manager updated on field performance, staffing needs, customer concerns, and team accountability

• Backfill as a field technician or installer when needed. This is a working manager role.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on HVAC experience in service, installation, or both

• 12 years of leadership experience as a lead tech, field supervisor, or service/install manager

• A strong understanding of both residential HVAC service and residential installs, and the ability to lead people on both sides

• The ability to recognize quality install work and spot what needs correcting

• Ability to coach technicians and installers while holding team members accountable

• Comfortable learning and managing KPIs, revenue goals, and labor targets. ServiceTitan experience is a plus, but we'll train you.

• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

• Willing to follow and enforce company processes and standards

• Experience in a Nexstar or similar process-driven shop is a plus

• EPA 608 certification

• Live within about 30 minutes of our Jonesboro shop, or be willing to relocate to the Jonesboro area

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
