As a Full‑Time Heavy‑Duty Mobile Mechanic, you’ll earn a competitive hourly rate of $25.00 to $50.00 (DOE) and receive a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision insurance and a health savings account. Qualifications 3‑5 years’ experience in heavy‑duty truck applications Excellent written and spoken communication skills Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems used in heavy‑duty equipment Ability to lift 50 lbs and work alone Must have own tools Valid driver’s license Proficiency with multiple scanning tools for diagnostics Ability to use and interpret technical manuals Basic computer skills CDL preferred (not required) Knowledge of DOT inspections and full understanding of pre/post‑trip requirements Job Responsibilities Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose heavy‑duty trucks and other equipment Repair and/or replace defective parts, components, or systems Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation Travel to remote sites to perform field repairs and preventative maintenance on internal and external trucks Document steps taken in work orders and list supplies used Occasional welding on equipment as needed Work out of shop when not on service calls Preferred Completion of a technical certification program for mobile heavy equipment repair Mobile mechanic experience Supervisory experience Advance Your Career Today American Motors is rapidly growing and we’re looking for the right people to join us.
