INTERN, Accounting

Under the Supervision of the Senior Accounting Manager, the Accountant is responsible for assisting in closing the corporate books, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations and analysis, consolidating financial statements, and preparing management reports.

• Assist with month-end close support tasks, including preparing schedules, organizing supporting documentation, and updating close checklists under supervision.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice coding, data entry, filing, and tracking approvals in accordance with company policies.
• Help reconcile bank, credit card, and selected general ledger accounts by matching transactions, identifying variances, and escalating discrepancies for resolution.
• Create and maintain Excel-based reports (e.g., spending summaries, aging reports, and variance trackers) to support Finance and Accounting decision-making.
• Assist with inventory and cost accounting support activities, such as compiling count results, helping research variances, and maintaining documentation.
• Support ERP and finance system data integrity by following established procedures, documenting issues, and assisting with basic testing for system updates as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to internal controls, safety requirements, and other company policies.
• Participate in special projects and perform other accounting-related duties as assigned to support the Finance and Accounting team.

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (or recent graduate within the last 12 months).
• Proficient in ERP Software.
• Proficient in Excel.
