Remote Senior Accountant

Job Title: Accounting Specialist – Data Lab Contributor Mercor is recruiting UK‑based Accounting Specialists with ASC606 revenue recognition experience for a research project with a leading frontier AI lab. Candidates must have hands‑on experience with ASC606 and be able to analyze complex accounting scenarios involving customer contracts, performance obligations, transaction‑price allocation, and revenue timing. Ideal candidates have strong backgrounds in revenue recognition, technical accounting, audit, accounting advisory, and financial reporting, and have worked at one or more of the following firms: Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG, BDO, GrantThornton, Forvis, Mazars, RSM, Crowe, EvelynPartners, or another leading accounting, audit, or advisory firm. Key Responsibilities Contribute high‑quality training data for frontier AI systems. Review and evaluate complex accounting scenarios and apply ASC606 guidance. Analyze contract terms, identify technical accounting issues, and explain revenue recognition conclusions clearly. Qualifications Hands‑on experience with ASC606 revenue recognition. Experience with contract review and revenue policy assessment, variable consideration, transaction‑price allocation, performance‑obligation identification, and revenue timing criteria. Experience in audit or advisory work involving complex revenue arrangements and financial reporting memos. Ability to apply accounting standards and communicate findings effectively. Requirements Based in the United Kingdom and possess the right to work in the UK. Available to work up to 40 hours per week. Application Process Resume and work history screening.
