  • Develop funding briefs that summarize opportunity fit, key requirements, risks, and strategic recommendations.
  • Tailor proposal language, framing, outcomes, and impact narratives to reflect funder priorities and interests.
  • Recommend approaches that strengthen proposal competitiveness, including alignment, outcomes measurement, return on investment, and differentiation.
  • Participate in proposal debriefs and continuous improvement efforts to strengthen future submissions.

Funding Intelligence & Research (15%)

  • Research and identify funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities and programmatic goals.
  • Monitor trends in philanthropy, public funding, and nonprofit fundraising to identify emerging opportunities and risks.
  • Support opportunity qualification and prioritization through research and analysis.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving grant writing best practices, funder expectations, and sector trends.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Project Management (10%)

  • Collaborate with Program Directors, Communications, Development, and Leadership throughout proposal development.
  • Coordinate proposal timelines, content collection, supporting materials, and internal review processes.
  • Facilitate information gathering to ensure proposals accurately reflect program goals, outcomes, implementation plans, and organizational priorities.
  • Work with program and finance staff to develop proposal budgets and supporting materials that align with project design, funder requirements, and proposal narratives.
  • Maintain organized proposal files, templates, and supporting documentation.

Innovation & Continuous Learning (5%)

  • Leverage AI tools, research platforms, and emerging technologies to improve productivity, proposal quality, and organizational learning.
  • Continuously strengthen grant writing, storytelling, and proposal development skills.
  • Recommend improvements to proposal development processes, tools, templates, and workflows.
  • Share relevant trends, insights, and best practices with colleagues.
