Shipping Lead - 2nd Shift

General Summary The Shipping Team Lead position is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities of shipping workers. The right individual will have 2‑3 years of experience leading a team in a manufacturing/warehouse environment and will create a work environment that contributes to team member morale and motivation to accomplish performance objectives. The role involves daily communication with other shifts and peers regarding safety, quality, productivity, staffing, equipment, and continuous improvement activities. Responsibilities Provide direct supervision of team members Support, train, monitor, and evaluate the team Conduct a review of current utilization of space and product flow Work with team to keep products current with the floor plan Monitor material to verify proper FIFO practices Accurately record, communicate and maintain assigned documentation in a timely manner Ensure the scheduler knows what material is needed for shipment and communicate any discrepancies Assist other departments/shifts as instructed Adhere to all health & safety policies and procedures for the area Prioritize multiple projects effectively Demonstrate ability to work in a professional, multi‑disciplinary, multicultural environment Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills Influence team members, peers, and senior managers Operate Hilo and assist team when needed Provide problem‑solving and resolution skills for departmental issues Drive continuous improvement relative to safety, quality, and productivity Work overtime as needed and across different shifts to observe and support the team Perform other duties as assigned by management Education and Experience Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a supervisory position. Strong background in manufacturing. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is required, with some knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Training Required On‑site orientation and training will be provided. Working Conditions Shop environment where Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required. Physical Effort Requirements Long periods of standing; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
