Mission Systems Software Stores Manager

Salary: $160,650 - 217,350 per year Requirements:

• We require an active U.S. Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance after start, and U.S. citizenship for government clearance and program access.
• We require eligibility to access Special Access Programs (SAP).
• We require a bachelors degree or equivalent.
• We require at least one year of leadership experience, such as team lead, temporary manager, large-scale cross-functional project or program management, or formal management experience, or completion of our internal Exploring Leadership course.
• We require 1 or more years of experience leading or managing diverse software teams.
• We require 3 or more years of experience in real-time, near real-time, or embedded systems.
• We require 1 or more years of experience working on or leading agile teams.
• We prefer a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited program.
• We prefer a background in mission systems engineering development, including safety-critical software development.
• We prefer proficiency with DevSecOps and modern software development practices.
• We prefer strong communication skills and a leadership style that motivates action, excellence, and innovation while working effectively with senior leadership, customers, and regulatory agencies.
• We prefer experience managing complex projects and delivering results on time and within budget.
• We prefer previous experience in an engineering management or team lead role.
• We require the ability to complete our first-line leader assessment during the selection process.
• We require successful completion of our conflict of interest assessment process.
• We require compliance with U.S. export control requirements as a U.S. Person.

• We lead and manage a diverse team of embedded software engineers delivering mission systems engineering and technical work.
• We assess staffing needs proactively and build a strong talent and skills pipeline to support project timelines.
• We direct technical planning and execution, including review of agile metrics and earned value management activities to keep cost, schedule, performance, safety, and quality on target.
• We partner with systems engineering, hardware engineering, quality assurance, customers, coworkers, and suppliers to integrate software components and maintain clear communication across the program lifecycle.
• We prioritize multiple tasks effectively while staying composed, professional, culturally aware, and sensitive in challenging situations.
• We guide the team in following software engineering design practices, safety-critical standards, independent verification and validation, and related engineering excellence initiatives.
• We mentor and develop engineering talent to strengthen technical excellence, innovation, and professional growth.
• We coordinate with other Boeing engineering teams on software verification, validation, release, and distribution.
• We apply modern development methods and DevSecOps principles to improve security, quality, and efficiency across the software lifecycle.
• We engage stakeholders, including customers and regulatory bodies, to share status, resolve concerns, and keep the program aligned with objectives.
• We create project plans, establish goals, track team metrics, and provide technical oversight.
• We hire, train, mentor, and support employee development while leading process improvements.
• We support and present at program management reviews, technical reviews, and program milestones.
