Chef de Partie

This role will be located at Silo Ridge Field Club, Amenia, New York. The position is available from May 1 to November 15, 2026. In this role, you will help create the Discovery Land Company experience for members and employees. Key Responsibilities Able to organize and lead a section of cooks. Assigns detailed duties to employees under supervision and instructs them in their work. Works closely with the Floor Steward to ensure kitchen areas are clean and orderly, insisting on meticulous cleanliness and orderliness. Ensures personal cleanliness and proper deportment of all employees under supervision. Responsible for the quality of all food items prepared in the kitchen, supervising according to standard recipes and constantly checking for taste, temperature and visual appeal; ensures dishes are uniform and portion sizes adhere to Executive Chef specifications. Ensures all cooks follow safe food handling standards. Prevents use of spoiled or damaged utensils, monitors for cracked or chipped china and glassware, trains staff to follow the rule, and reports non‑usable items to the Stewarding Supervisor for breakage records, ensuring par levels of equipment are maintained. Adheres to all safety, health, security, loss‑control policies, procedures and applicable government legislation. Maintains all equipment in the supervised area, prevents damage or loss, and alerts the Executive Chef for necessary action. Qualifications Preferably holds a culinary arts degree or certificate. At least 5 years of work experience, including 2–3 years in fine dining. Knowledge of ServSafe and safe food handling practices. Additional Requirements Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to serve members, guests, and team members. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required. Capability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to remain calm and focused during the busiest times. Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English; additional languages preferred. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
