Estates and Trusts Paralegal - Law firm - Lost Angeles - $100-110k - Hybrid schedule

Summary:

The Estates and Trusts Paralegal will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys in handling estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters. This position requires a strong understanding of estate and trust law, along with meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Estate Planning:

  • Assist in drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
  • Research and analyze relevant estate planning laws and regulations.
  • Gather and review client information to prepare estate planning documents accurately.
  • Prepare and file estate planning documents with the appropriate courts and agencies.

• Probate:

  • Prepare and file petitions for probate, guardianship, and other court proceedings.
  • Obtain necessary court orders and documents for probate administration.
  • Manage and distribute assets according to the terms of wills and trusts.
  • Prepare and file tax returns for estates and trusts.

• Trust Administration:

  • Assist in the administration of revocable and irrevocable trusts.
  • Prepare and file trust accountings and tax returns.
  • Communicate with beneficiaries, trustees, and other parties involved in trust matters.
  • Monitor trust investments and ensure compliance with trust terms.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estates and Trusts Paralegal.
• Strong understanding of estate planning, probate, and trust administration laws and procedures.
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
