Audiology Resident/Fourth-Year Externship for the 2027-2028 Academic Year

Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations for patients of all ages, including those with developmental delays and special needs. Perform diagnostic tests such as pure-tone audiometry, visual response audiometry, otoacoustic emissions, tympanometry, vestibular assessments (VNG, VEMP, ECoG), auditory brainstem response (ABR) and auditory steady‑state response (ASSR) testing. Provide rehabilitative services including pediatric amplification, hearing aid verification with Verifit 2, BAHA evaluations, cochlear‑implant assessments and mapping, and core lecture series participation. Collaborate with surgeons for pre‑ and post‑operative audiological evaluations. Assist in leadership training through the LEND program and participate in research presented at the EHDI conference. Clinical Opportunities Routine hearing screenings, tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, evoked potentials. Pediatric evaluations (infant, toddler, school‑age) and adult hearing evaluations. Vestibular assessments and intra‑operative monitoring. Hearing aid dispensation and fitting, cochlear‑implant evaluations and rehabilitation. Qualifications Currently in the fourth year of an Au.D. program or equivalent audiology residency. Proficiency in conducting pure‑tone audiometry, visual response audiometry, otoacoustic emissions, and tympanometry. Experience with pediatric population and individuals with developmental delays is preferred. Basic case history and report writing, pre‑ and post‑operative audiology, and referral skills. Professional liability insurance for the duration of the externship. Schedule & Location Start Date: June 2027. Expected hours: ~40 per week.
