Avionics Technician LeadMoses Lake, Washington, United StatesIn this role, you'll perform advanced avionics installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair while helping ensure aircraft meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEnsures all tasks are promptly completed in compliance with federal regulations, customer guidelines and company policies.Reviews required customer and FAA paperwork to ensure proper maintenance updates and compliance with applicable regulations and customer requirements.Oversees and co-signs for uncertified mechanics in accordance with the GTI RSM procedures.Leads the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of, or approve and return to service, any aircraft, or part thereof, only for which that Lead is rated and has satisfactorily performed the work concerned at an earlier date.Facilitates On-the-Job Training (OJT) to provide learning opportunities through work assignment and mentoring.Performs maintenance tasks as required and becomes an active member of the crew.Has intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work area.Properly utilized and maintain Avionics hand tools to perform repairs and installations.Prepare routine reports and correspondence.Fabricate per drawings and standard practices wire bundles and assemblies to include marking of wires, properly securing wires into bundles, and termination of wires into a variety of contacts and connectors.Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustmentsOther duties as assigned.CompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Adaptability – Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and accepts constructive criticism/feedback and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.Communications – Expresses ideas and thoughts effectively in verbal and written form, exhibits good listening and comprehension, and keeps others informed and uses appropriate communication methods.Dependability – Responds to requests for service and assistance, follows instruction and responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions and doing the best job possible, keeps commitments, and maintains reliable attendance.Initiative – Sets and achieves challenging goals, demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles, measures self against standard of excellence, recognizes and acts on opportunities, and takes calculated risks to accomplish goals.Teamwork – Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, and puts success of team above own interests.Work Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, displays commitment to excellence, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors own work to ensure quality.Job Core Competencies (CHOOSE 3-4 from GTI Competencies List)Cooperation – Establishes and maintains effective relations, exhibits tact and consideration, displays positive outlook and pleasant manner, offers assistance and support to co-workers, works cooperatively in group situations and works actively to resolve conflicts.Judgment – Displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, supports and explains reasoning for decisions, includes appropriate people in decision-making process, and makes timely decisions.Job Knowledge – Competent in required job skills and knowledge, exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills, keeps abreast of current developments, requires minimal supervision, displays understanding of how job relates to others, and uses resources effectively.Summary of Education, Experience & CertificationMinimum of 5 years' avionics experience required. Proficient with the Standard Wiring Practices Manual.Airframe (A) or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License is a plus. B1, B1.1, and/or B2 certification is a plus.Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company, foreign government, foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to communicate effectively in EnglishMathematical knowledge and the ability to apply towards problem solvingProficiency with Microsoft office suiteAbility to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Strong time management and organizational skills.Ability to travel as required.Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.Physical RequirementsAble to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing ProgramAble to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.Able to lift 25 lbs. without assistance/able to lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.Able to reach overhead.Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).Full range of motion with both hands.Able to work in a stooping, kneeling or standing position and in cramped areas.The expected WA salary range for this position is between $84,872.00 - $116,699.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
