JOB SUMMARY:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Finance team. The Payroll Specialist will play an important role as a member of our payroll team. This team is responsible for maintaining payroll systems, processing paychecks, and communicating with management and employees. Further, this role will develop and apply a wealth of specialized knowledge to administer and reconcile benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Calculating multiple multi-state payrolls, taxes, deductions on a weekly basis while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws. Verify time and attendance information and maintain accurate records. Investigate questions and resolve discrepancies. Perform audits and reconciliation of quarter and year end filings, paid time off, benefit deductions and benefit invoices. Audit employee changes to ensure accurate employee records. Communicate with employees, managers, HR and Finance regarding payroll records, paychecks, company policies, reports, and journal entries. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or SKILLS: Associate or bachelor’s degree or FPC or CPP preferred but will consider a minimum of 3-5 years of hands‑on experience. Experience in ADP Workforce Now preferred. Highly organized with strong data management skills. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point. Accuracy and attention to detail with an aptitude for numbers and quantitative reasoning. Strong communication skills while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and respect for the privacy of employee records. Must be able to prioritize and adapt in a fast paced, high output environment with time sensitive tasks. Must be able to work as a team player, take directions from manager and work independently on self‑directed projects.
