Accounting Clerk

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk with hotel or hospitality accounting experience to support General Ledger activities, account reconciliations, and the accurate classification and posting of debts, charges, and financial transactions. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, understands hotel accounting operations, and can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Classify, code, and post debts, charges, invoices, and other financial transactions to the appropriate General Ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Review transactions for accuracy, proper coding, supporting documentation, and compliance with accounting procedures.
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts, identify discrepancies, and research outstanding balances
• Process and verify accounts payable, receivables, payments, credits, and adjustments as needed.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with Front Office, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and hotel operations to resolve billing and posting discrepancies.
• Assist with daily hotel accounting functions, including revenue postings, deposits, adjustments, and charge corrections.
• Prepare spreadsheets and accounting reports using Microsoft Excel.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting clerk, general ledger, or related accounting experience.
• Hotel/hospitality accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Understanding of General Ledger account classification, debits/credits, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Strong Excel and data-entry skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to research discrepancies and resolve accounting issues independently.
