FFSP Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Victim Advocate (SAPR VA)

Serve as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate (VA) within Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC), Fleet and Family Readiness (N9), Family Readiness Fleet & Family Support (N91). The primary purpose of the position is to serve as the primary initial point of contact for victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment, and work closely with the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) to ensure comprehensive care for victims throughout the reporting process. Responsibilities Act as the primary initial point of contact for victims of sexual assault and sexual harassment. Collaborate with the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) to ensure comprehensive care throughout the reporting process. Provide one‑on‑one victim advocacy assistance and information to victims. Coordinate victim services (medical, legal, mental health, investigative) with various agencies. Qualifications Knowledge of primary prevention principles, sexual assault dynamics, and local social services delivery systems, concepts, principles and theories, and community resources for sexual assault and victim advocacy. Knowledge of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices related to victim advocacy and prevention of sexual harassment. Knowledge of social service delivery systems, methods, and theories relating to victim advocacy and sexual harassment. Knowledge of trauma‑informed care approaches for working with sexual assault victims in crisis situations. Practical knowledge of the military, DoD, DON, and SAPR Program, including local, state, federal laws, and military regulations pertaining to sexual assault victims. Knowledge of Department of Navy organizational structure, management policies, and practices related to sexual harassment victim advocacy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and FFSMIS for data entry, reporting, and document development. Experience using virtual video‑conferencing and training platforms to develop and deliver presentations and training. Skill in instruction techniques, evaluation method design, and evaluating effectiveness of training courses. Skill in crisis intervention, situational assessment, and analyzing victim needs to provide support and assistance. Strong verbal, written, and professional communication skills to interact with all levels of management, staff, and intervening agencies. Knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual harassment training. Proficiency in interpersonal skills and maintaining supportive relationships with military personnel and families.
