Clinical Pharmacist in Dowagiac, MI

An inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available for a 13-week contract beginning June 1st. This role supports hospital pharmacy services with a focus on clinical inpatient care and medication management. Candidates will be based near Elkhart, IN, just outside South Bend, IN, with the facility located in Dowagiac, MI.


Schedule Options:

• Day Shift: 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Day/Evening Shift: 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Perform order verification using Cerner Meds Manager in the Cerner EMR system
• Manage inpatient pharmacy distribution and maintain accurate medication records
• Prepare IV medications in the IV room, including antibiotics, anticoagulants, and electrolytes
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication use

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Proficiency with Cerner order verification required
• Experience in inpatient hospital pharmacy settings preferred
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication dispensing systems and Pharmacy Keeper software
• Knowledge of hospital-based IV medication preparation and handling
• New graduates are welcome if Cerner order verification experience is demonstrated
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
