As a Leave Specialist on DriveTime’s Total Rewards Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring all employee leaves of absence and accommodations are administered accurately, compliantly, and with care. You’ll serve as a trusted point of contact for employees, leaders, vendors, and internal partners, guiding leave and accommodation activity from initiation through completion while delivering a thoughtful and compliant employee experience. Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison and record keeper for all internal and external communications related to leaves of absence and accommodations. Keep all impacted groups informed of status updates and relevant issues, including Legal, vendors, Management, and Payroll. Monitor third‑party vendor reports, audit incoming invoices, and maintain strong partnerships with vendor contacts. Maintain regular verbal and written communication with employees regarding their leave status and required documentation. Build and enhance processes and training programs to support ongoing education and consistency. Facilitate accommodation conversations with employees and managers. Accurately and promptly respond to employee inquiries regarding leaves of absence and accommodations. Ensure all required documentation is received, distributed, and routed to the appropriate parties. Proactively reach out to impacted employees and partner with HR leadership to resolve concerns or complaints. Stay up to date on department policies to ensure accurate, compliant communication. Review, monitor, and organize all reported leaves of absence using internal and external systems with proper classification. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with employees and leadership. A strong sense of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of integrity. Agility in a fast‑paced environment and the ability to thrive in an organization that moves quickly. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a high‑performing team environment. A servant‑leader mentality with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences to internal and external customers. Specifics Minimum of 3 years of experience administering leaves of absence and accommodations. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field. Experience and working knowledge of federal and state compliance laws related to leaves of absence, including FMLA and ADA. Working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation, Short‑Term Disability (STD), Long‑Term Disability (LTD), Military, Personal, and Family and Medical Leave (FMLA). Ability to support, interpret, and communicate policies and procedures clearly and consistently. Nice to Haves Experience working with Workday.
