Job Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients using various assessment methodologies.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies aimed at achieving both immediate and long-term speech, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions centered on enhancing communication abilities, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Work alongside an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family caregivers, to develop integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to foster encouragement and facilitate improvement between therapy sessions.
- Contribute to inpatient speech evaluations and interventions when necessary, ensuring uninterrupted care throughout the recovery path.
- Maintain up-to-date clinical documentation that adheres to state and federal regulations as well as organizational protocols.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay at the forefront of Speech Language Pathology.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Licensure and Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
